Art in Science Palentology, the study of prehistoric life forms on Earth through the examination of plant and animal fossils, has given us a lot to wonder about. Since fossils are fragmentary and do not show the animal or plant as it appeared in life, illustrations, sketches and paintings were necessary to bring long extinct creatures to life. Palm Security for your PC Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd has developed a highly precise biometric authentication. It has the technology that can verify a person’s identity by recognising the pattern of blood veins in the person’s palm. Fujitsu confirmed the accuracy of the new technology in a test correctly identifying all the 700 involved objects. Give peace a chance Way back in 1958, Robert and I occupied adjacent rooms at the Marine Engineering College, Calcutta. As a co-incidence, with my room key I could open his door and vice –versa. One incident, which I vividly remember, happened one afternoon. Robert neatly sliced a ripe Papaya and kept it in his room to be relished after a cool shower.
