How does Gas Vigil work
In the kitchen:
Gas Vigil is an electronic device that can detect gas and activate an
alarm the moment the LP gas proportion crosses the safety zone in your kitchen. It is the
best bet against accidents that can occur due to ageing pipelines, flame blowouts caused
by wind/liquid spills, minute holes in pipeline caused by kinks, faulty installation of
stove, regulator or pipe fittings or plain and simple human errors.
For quick and efficient
response, the Gas Vigil is installed about 30 cm above floor level, anywhere in the
kitchen. This is because the LP gas is twice as heavy as air and flows downwards.
A green light shows that
everything is normal. However, the moment the Gas Vigil sniffs the leaking gas in the
kitchen it moves into the active mode. The green light turns red and a highly audible
buzzer goes off, alerting the housewife who can switch off the gas knob instantly to avoid
any tragedy.
